Who Knows?

Our text comes from a portion of Joshua 24:15. … choose you this day whom ye will serve;

what you lack Joshua is giving a charge to the Israelites as they go in to possess the land that God had promised them.  God had gotten them through the plagues back in Egypt, he got them through the Red Sea, he got them through the wilderness, he got them across the Jordon river, he gave them the land that he promised them, and after all this they are admonished to choose to either serve the Lord or other gods.

  After all that God had done for them, why would they choose to serve other gods?  Who knows?

After all the promises came through just like God said, why would they want to serve others whose word is no good?  Who knows?

After God supplied them with all the provisions needed on a day to day basis, why would they serve others that can’t come through with the basic needs, much less the wants.     Who Knows?

After all the miracles that God had performed for them, why would they serve others that can’t do anything?  Who knows?

After all the victories they had gotten, why would they want to serve losers?  Who knows?

After all the guidance God had provided, why would they want to serve someone that didn’t know where they themselves were going?   Who knows?

After God had supplied such a great salvation, why would they want to serve someone that needed salvation too?  Who knows?

After God got them to their destination, why would they want to serve others that don’t know where they have been, don’t know where they are, and don’t know where they are going?  Who knows?

 Friend, after all that God has done for you, why wouldn’t you want to serve Him?

Who knows?
