Our text is taken from the Gospel of John. 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
As I come in contact with people everyday I notice that mulitudes have no reason to live or die. They think that they are here to go to work, make money, pay bills, eat, sleep, and wake up to do it all over again. Sad, sad, sad. Life after death never enters their mind. The most distant future that they think about is retirement. Sad when some never live to see retirement. Then what?
Friend, God has a purpose for you else he would call you home. Ask the Lord to show you what your purpose is. You are still alive and there is plenty to do and for some so little time to do it. You do have a purpose.
Jesus said that he wants you to have more abundant life not just existing or going through the motions of life like some kind of robot.
You do have a purpose. Find out what it is and do it. Where do you look? Read the Bible and you will find what you are to do. A good place to start is in the Gospel of John.
For some it may be that you just need to get saved. If you don’t do anything else, do that. At least then you will have a purpose to die. How do you get saved? Refer to the devotion entitled, The Door is Open. Is is easy as A, B, C.
Don’t be one of the multitudes that don’t have purpose. Serve the Lord and you will have purpose. May God help you find your way.
See you in Heaven!
