Our text will come from Psalm 20:7. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
In a day when we are weary of terrorism and threats of war and all the terrors that follow them it would do us good to remember that God knows what he is doing and he is still on the throne. He has it all under control. He knows what is going on.
Our text says that there will be some that think our hope is in the military personnel, tanks, planes, missiles, bombs, guns, and other military paraphernalia.
The Psalmist implies that many have forgotten the Lord and his mighty hand as America has in the 21st century. Notice the writer says, “But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” Even if you get Alzheimer’s disease don’t forget God.
When I read our text for today I see America along with the other world countries. They have forgotten that the Lord is still in control and wants us to trust and remember him.
It’s no wonder that we as a nation are in the mess we’re in. We have in a sense lost God. We don’t think he will help us so we turn to guns, military, and other false securities.
Our Lord is coming back and He will straighten everything out.
May God help us to trust in Him for our hope. Without Him, we have no hope.
