Deviled Ham

Our text will come from Mark chapter 5.verse 13.  And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

Here is the story of the man that was filled with unclean spirits, a wild scene.  When the man meets Jesus the man worships him because even in his state of being filled with unclean spirits he knows who is worthy of worship and he knows where to get help.  Jesus tells the unclean spirit to come out of him.  Then he asked him what his name was and he told Jesus that his name was Legion. That means many and a legion in the Roman armies were a thousand men.  So this man was, you might say, “Full of it.”  In either case Jesus helped the man by getting rid of his unclean spirits and the spirits next choice of bodies to go into was pigs.  That’s something to think about isn’t it?  A second choice to humans was pigs. Not very positive but very enlightening.  Jesus gives them leave and they go into the pigs and they run off of a cliff and were drowned in the sea.  The first case of deviled ham.

The lesson to us is clear.  Regardless what state you are in Jesus can help you.

He wants to help you.

Do you want help from him?
