I Don’t Have Time

Our text will come from Luke 16:24. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

It is said that you will do what you want to. So true. We have time for anything we want to do in the way of recreation, ourselves, jobs, and family. We take time for anything else that we really feel necessary to do but many times when asked about taking time for really important things, we say, “I don’t have time.”

In our text, there was a man that was rich and it seemed he had it all.  While he was alive here on earth he never took time to get saved or even inquire about it. The time came that he died and ended up in a place where he had nothing but time to think.  He had plenty of time to remember and plead for the chance to go back and and get saved.

The first thing the rich man asked for was mercy.  I said that was the first thing he asked for. He didn’t have time on earth for it, but now that is the first thing he wants. He now knows he has messed up big-time.

Reader, have you ever been saved?
Do you have time in your schedule to learn about the most important thing you’ll ever do?  Are you sure you don’t have time?

Remember, the rich man died and you will too one day.

Take time for the important things.
