Our text will be drawn from Matthew 25 verse 10. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
This is the famous parable of the 5 foolish virgins and the 5 wise virgins. The wise virgins were prepared for the Lord’s return but the 5 foolish ones goofed off and lived for the here and now thinking they had plenty of time to prepare for the Lord’s return. The Lord came and in verse 10 the wise were ready to meet the Lord and the foolish were not. They missed the opportunity of a lifetime. They lived like they had many years to come. The wise ones lived like they had no tomorrow because the time really did come where they had no tomorrow. They had lived their lives like they had no tomorrow.
Reader, that is the way it is with us. We are not promised tomorrow; therefore we need to do all we can to prepare for the Lord’s soon return. When that happens our tomorrows will have run out. Do what you can now because you many not have the chance ever again.
Recently while we were eating in a restaurant my wife saw a lady that she grew up with and went to school with. The last time she had seen her was 25 years ago. I encouraged her to give her a gospel track and invite her to church because she might not see her again, ever.
The Bible speaks of “redeeming the time” which is what we should do because you never know when our time will run out.
May God help you to live like there is no tomorrow because one day, for you, there will be no tomorrow.
