Our text is from Numbers 14:42. Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.
Israel has just brought back an evil and negative report about the people in the land. This was the land that God promised them but as a the result of a lack of faith, God tells them they will have to wander for 40 years in the wilderness until all those that brought back a bad report died, including those that were affiliated with them. After they heard this, then they decided to go in the land and attack the inhabitants. God told them not to go because he would not be with them because of their lack of faith and their rebellion. But they went anyway and many were killed and they were defeated by their enemies.
You see, there is a time to act and a time when it is too late to act. Many times it’s too late after the damage is done to go back and undo all that you messed up.
It’s too late, now.
Israel found out the hard way. It also cost them dearly. That’s usually the case. Bad decisions are costly.
If you put off salvation there will be a time that …
It’s too late.
Now’s the time to get saved. If you go out in eternity without the Lord you can’t go back and do it over again. The angels, the saints of God, or perhaps the Lord himself may tell you…
“It’s too late, now.”
