Doctors Orders

Our text will come from the book of Matthew 9:11.  And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 9:12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

While Jesus was carrying on his ministry here on earth he went about the regions healing and doing good for folks however, there were always those that had something to say about it and didn’t like it. They were either jealous that they didn’t have the power that Jesus had, or they didn’t get the attention that Jesus did, or perhaps Jesus was stealing their glory.

In any event Jesus had doctor’s orders for them. His orders were clear. He was here to heal the sick not those that were well.

Sinners need repentance; not the righteous. If you are critical and jealous of others that are trying to do right, there is a need for you to repent of your sinfulness so he will have mercy on you.

Doctor’s Orders.
