Church is Important

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the
manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25.

This Sunday Morning as I prepare for Church services I am reminded that church is important.

Remember, going to church is important, not to get saved, but because you are saved.
One of the evidences of salvation is that you enjoy being around Gods people.

Church is important because there you can gain support, strength, love, compassion, and encouragement (exhorted), which is something in this day and age we all need, including myself.

Church is also important because unsaved people are watching you and you may be the only Jesus that they will see. How tragic it would be on judgement day, someone is sentenced to Hell because of your apathy, laziness, and “I’ll do what I want to” attitude.

Don’t forsake the assembling “as the manner of some is.”  Those that used to attend church and now no longer do are a sign of last day Christians. You can read about how God feels about them in Revelation 3:14-18. Don’t be on the out crowd, be on the in crowd.

Lastly, church is important because the Lord created the universe in 6 days and then rested on the 7th day as an example for us to do the same.
Jesus said, “The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Mark 2:27.
The idea is that we need a day of rest from our labors and and we need to rest in the Lord.  So do it.
When Jesus comes you will be glad you did.
Remember, “the day is approaching.”

What price do you put on your testimony, family, judgment, and rewards at the judgement seat of Christ?

May God help you to see that some things are not worth the overtime or your own desires.
