One Day at a Time

Our verse for today is from Matthew 6:34.  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

So many times we make plans for tomorrow, or the next day, or next week, or even next year.  I know, because I’ve made plans for my vacations even as far ahead as the next year.  Really, in many ways it is foolish, because tomorrow may never come for us, much less next year.  Take one day at a time.

Remember 9/11.  Many of those folks woke up that morning thinking they had the rest of their lives ahead of them and many, no doubt had plans for that day and the next as well. Little did they know that a plane would ram their building and they would be jumping out of the building that day only to fall to their deaths.  My how things can change in one day.  Take one day at a time.

In the spiritual realm, we have all we can handle today battling with the world, the flesh, and the devil, without borrowing trouble from tomorrow.  Take one day at a time.

Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.  That is the Lords’ opinion.

Take one day at a time, because you don’t have tomorrow to take.
