Our text will come from Psalm 139:2. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
Our text declares that the Lord knows our thoughts and what we want to do and accomplish this next year and any year after that. It doesn’t’ make any difference if we haven’t thought that far ahead yet. He has and he knows what you are going to be doing this New Year.
Now that the holidays are over, if you are like me you are looking ahead to the new year and where you want to be in the upcoming days.
I look toward spring. Others look toward vacation time or perhaps starting a new semester of schooling.
Whatever you may have in mind remember the Lord may return this year and with all the things that you want to do in the new year it would be a good idea to always keep the Lord in mind, after all, when he returns you want to be found in his will not your own.
Always try to keep in mind that whatever you do this year make it count for God. After all, when all is said and done only what’s done for the Lord will last. The rest will be in the garbage bag.
May God be in the center of your new years’ plans.
